On exhibition from 5 February to 31 April 2026.

"When someone asks me to introduce myself, I usually start by saying the following: Art is my mind’s cup of coffee, as it gives me the energy to keep going. Music is my soul’s glass of wine, as it helps me relax. Lastly, the mountain trails here in Cape Town are like my blueberries. They are divine to consume in abundance and still healthy. I discovered my love for art when I started attending the Nellie Brisley Art School in Bloemfontein. Since then I have had the honour to learn more from other artists. Tracy Payne taught me valuable lessons in Oil Painting, and Judy Woodborne opened the doors to Printmaking." Each chapter of my journey as an artist has inspired me to combine different techniques and try to develop my style as an artist. "What is a ‘moment’? For me, it’s any memory that sneaks up and makes you smile, even long after you thought you’d forgotten it. Like when Google Photos unexpectedly flashes a 2018 selfie on your screen, and suddenly you’re back in that sunlit afternoon, surprised by how vividly it all comes rushing back.

Still, I can’t help but wonder: does our habit of snapping photos change what a moment means? Now, instead of relying on memory, we scroll through endless archives ready to be rediscovered. Maybe we have more smiles at our fingertips than ever before. But I sometimes catch myself thinking, am I living the moment or simply preserving it? I’m not sure, but the question seems worth pondering. These paintings are all moments in my life (or the lives of people I know) that bring me joy when I look at them. If you find yourself admiring a painting, maybe these painted snapshots will nudge loose a forgotten smile from your own memory vault too”
